History and Development of Youtube

Youtube is a video sharing a web site (various videos) popular founded in February 2005 by three former PayPal employees Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim. According to Internet research company, Hitwise, YouTube on May 2006 had a market share of 43 percent. The users can upload, watch and share video clips for free. Generally, the videos on YouTube are music clips (video clips), films, TV, and video made by the users themselves. Format used in YouTube videos are. Flv can be played in a web browser that has Flash Player plugin.  


Well below is the beginning and the long struggle from www.youtube.com following facts: 
 

  1. YouTube was founded in February 2005 by three former PayPal employees, namely Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim.
  2. At first Youtube headquarters is located on the top floor of a Japanese restaurant Pizza and Restaurant in San Mateo, California. 
  3. Beginning of the first video in the Upload on Youtube titled "Me at the Zoo", featuring Jawed Karimat San Diego zoo. Until now the video can still be seen on youtube. 
  4. YouTube launched a beta test in May 2005, six months before the official launch held in November 2005 5. In July 2006, or eight months after the official, recorded 65,000 new videos uploaded to Youtube site every day, with 100 million views per day. 
  5. Www.youtube.com name selection resulted in problems for a site named like, www.yutube.com. Owner of the site, Universal Tube & Roll form Equipment, filed a lawsuit against YouTube in November 2006 after experiencing an overload caused by regular people looking for YouTube site 
  6. In October 2006, Google Inc.. buy Youtube worth 1.65 billion U.S. $ 
  7. In 2007 Youtube had consumed the entire bandwidth equal to the amount of Internet bandwidth in the world in 2000 
  8. In June 2008 Forbes magazine reported that during 2008 Youtube revenues estimated to reach 200 million U.S. $
  9. In 2008 Youtube awarded George Foster Peabody Award and for being "Speakers Corners" and participate instrumental in the development of democracy and freedom of opinion 
  10. Currently the online video site YouTube became the most dominant provider in the United States, maybe even the world, with 43 percent market control. Estimated 20 hours duration of the video uploaded to YouTube every minute of it with 6 billion views per day.
